Today I met a very nice woman who was introduced to me by her friend at Oppenheimer Park(click link for location.) I was wearing my lawyer's trenchcoat as usual, with a wooly primitive shepherd's coat underneath, to keep warm. It was a good opportunity actually meet someone who lives in a tent in winter, here in the city. So I asked her, What's it like living in a tent? The answer was: good, but there are some issues, like the cold. (Right now it is freezing at night, and) "we wake up with frost on us." A detail I would never have thot of. *brackets) are my own comments to help the flow of the discussion. So I was asked, in return by the friend, what it was living in a place like the one I live in. I said that there were a lot of rules and you feel cramped by them. She also told me that she sometimes stays overnight in the tent with her friend. I was offered a shared cigarette. It is a perfect time to meet tenters since the Homeground Festival is taking place, only 2 days this year. Thursday, February 7th is the last day. If you do visit, please respect people's right to privacy. Only interact if people tenters interact with you. 20190206_090953 by Rudolf Penner, on Flickr
